Life and choices.

I recently read an interesting quote, to do with the various choices that life presents to us.

“I think if you can draw and write and sing and dance and make up stories and cook and photograph, then its simply a foolish waste to try and specialize in one thing - I mean, why give any less to life?”

I don’t know who said it, but reading it connected with something deep inside me – as I’m sure it connected with deep inside a lot of others who read it. So many times, we are asked to make choices that are seemingly impossible. How does one choose amongst things that make us who we are? And who says we must make that choice at all? Because if we’re good at more than one thing, that’s just who we are. It’s something we should be proud of, something we should take to the next level. Everyone has something that they’re good at, but to have more than one thing is a blessing. So why should we waste the talent we have in other fields, by just specializing in one? The ability to do multiple things with equal ease and skill should be taken advantage of. It’s not something that comes naturally to a lot of people, so if it can be done, why not?
